    From Mary Ann:

In 2010 I took a Euro Nymphing class from Brett Bishop, a member of the US Fly Fishing Team. I recall catching a 16 inch fish in 6 inches of water on a nymph. That would not have happened with our American Indicator Techniques. I continued to play with and explore this technique. Gradually, I turned to  Euro Nymphing techniques more and more. Today I Euro Nymphing for 95% of my subsurface fishing and I have three Euro-Nymphing rod. Yes the rod count alone, shows my commitment to Euro Nymphing.   If you are motivated – invest into a guided day of Euro Nymphing – you won’t regret the investment.

One of the core events the Sunriver Anglers Club sponsors is our annual Youth Free Fish Day.  It is a fun filled day for children, their families, and the many Club volunteers and friends who make this special event possible. Last year, we had more than 170 kids participate in the program, resulting in excited shouts of "fish on” heard across Obsidian Lake. For Club members that are not familiar with the event, program activities include fishing for trophy rainbow trout, storytelling in the salmon tent, fish art printing, casting practice, live displays of fish and other aquatic life, our famous talking trout, fish anatomy, and other activities. The entire event is free for everyone. We target children from South Deschutes County, and Resort and SR Village employees. Fishing is limited to children 14 years of age and younger.  A free hot dog lunch with all the fixings and beverages will be available for the entire family and all volunteers.
To make this magic day a reality, it takes a lot of volunteers.  Fortunately, many SRA members volunteer for the event year after year. Please consider joining us June 1st, between the hours of 8:15 am until 12:45 PM, at the beautiful Caldera Springs Resort whether this will be your 1st of 25th time as a participant.

Simply click on the following link to REGISTER and let us know your preference where you are most comfortable volunteering and one of our event coordinators will contact you with more specific information.

Thank you in advance for considering joining us to host this special event!
